GOVERNOR MUTFWANG UNVEILS NEWLY REMODELED CHILLERS IN JOS

The newly remodeled Chillers, now rebranded as Chillers by Newyorker, has been officially unveiled, marking a new era of relaxation and entertainment in the state. The grand opening, which took place over the weekend, was presided over by Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, who lauded the initiative as a major boost to tourism and economic development in the region.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony held on Saturday, February 15, at the Chillers facility along Brewery Road, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the importance of private sector investment in driving development.

“It takes a great leap of faith to invest hard-earned money in Plateau State, and I am confident that such confidence will be greatly rewarded. This facility is a testament to the growth of our private sector and a signal that Plateau is ready for more investments. I congratulate the visionaries behind this project and dedicate it to the promotion of commerce and tourism in our state,” the Governor stated.

The visionary behind Chillers by Newyorker, Chief Kefas Ropshik Wungak, CEO of Kefiano Autos, described the facility as a unique all inclusive entertainment and relaxation center.

“This place is designed to be a one-stop location for leisure and business. We have a gym, spa, bakery, Bush Bar, a continental and local restaurant, a club, lounge, and accommodation facilities, as well as a supermarket that will run 24 hours,” Wungak explained.

He further emphasized that the project was inspired by a desire to showcase Plateau’s potential and boost its economy by attracting tourists and creating employment.

“So far, we have 150 staff members working here, and by extension, their employment positively impacts many other lives. This initiative is also about making Plateau a sater place by engaging people in productive ventures,” he added.

Also speaking at the event, Commissioner for Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality, Cornelius Doeyok, described the unveiling of Chillers by Newyorker as a milestone in Plateau’s tourism sector.

“This comes at a time when our administration is prioritizing tourism as a key driver of economic sustainability. The Plateau State government has introduced policies such as ease of doing business and tax incentives to encourage private investment in tourism. We will continue to collaborate with stakeholders to showcase Plateau’s rich tourism assets to the world,” he said.

Chillers by Newyorker is set to become a leading hospitality hub, reinforcing Plateau State’s position as a premier destination for relaxation and tourism in Nigeria.
